Data ubiquity from social media, surveillance, and digital consumption has generated a flood of recorded information. This data may remain anonymous or raise privacy concerns, hold valuable assets that vanish or endlessly recycle the mundane. Revisiting this data in new forms uncovers deeply personal topics native to the digital age.
TENDER’s exhibition Redacted is presented at Paris Photo 2024, featuring major new series from five generative artists, presented through photographic prints, digital display, experimental plots, and more. Each body of work explores the details of a different data source at scale, using code-based and AI generative processes to reveal new narratives from explicit, encoded, or abstracted data that's been scrubbed of its original intent.
