Artist's Project Description
Silver Ratio = 0.618... is the inverse of the famous Golden Ratio (1.618...) In this piece, I used the silver ratio to divide the rectangles into more rectangles. I started with one rectangle, whose height/width ratio is Silver Ratio, then divided the longer side in two, according to the Silver Ratio. Newly formed two rectangles undergo the same algorithm and so it goes on. There are three different textures for rectangles, with equal probability. Colors are used in a way that makes it easier to follow the flow of division that took place. If you look closely, you can identify the 'companion' rectangle to any rectangle, which means they were one rectangle before the last division. Best viewed in full screen view. In the end, I want to thank Tyler Hobbs for his essays on generative art. His writings taught me a lot about colors and shapes and balance in generative art. (Remaining tokens will be burned after a week)
