A lusona is a drawing in the sand, created by a storyteller as they draw and narrate together. Sona are part of the tradition of the Chokwe people from south west Africa.
We became interested in these drawings when exploring culturally rich sources for mathematics teaching and we are delighted that we have been able to create this work inspired by them.
Keystrokes 1,2,3,4 & 7 will render the artwork at increasing resolutions.
