This work is an exploration of abstract landscapes using lines that are bounded to 8 directions. This limitation still allows for somewhat organic visuals and creates a visual language more akin to traditional drawing techniques. Using a vector field with a noise function at different scales, I construct paths starting at random positions and moving to the neighbours cells pointed at by the vector field. Paths have a limitation of length and are bounded to the grid. I create tens of thousands of paths then render progressively on screen. There are 10 parameters variations and 4 colors, 2 being rare and one very rare. Original artwork by William Watkins · Lyon, 2021
